Welcome!

The Student Fisheries Society at North Carolina State is a subunit of the North Carolina Chapter of the American Fisheries Society. We promote the exchange of fisheries and aquatic science among students, faculty, and regional professionals. NC State has a large and active subunit. We have members from all ages and stages, from freshman up to post-doctoral researchers! Our members participate in community outreach, network with fisheries professionals at state and national meetings, and develop skills that they will use in future careers.

This webpage is designed to be a resource for our members and those who are interested in learning more about SFS! While we work hard to keep this website active, it’s hard to include everything going on. Please subscribe to our listserv for updates , research and service opportunities, job announcements, and more! If you have questions, please contact us (see Contact and List Serv page).

The American Fisheries Society is the oldest and largest not-for-profit, professional society for government, academic, and industry scientists associated with conservation, development, and management of fishery resources in North America
